Hardscape Project
Last week we finally were able to get work started on our front lawn. It is so exciting! We've basically had dirt and weeds since we finished construction on the house over TWO years ago. I think it will be well worth the wait. The guys we hired are amazing and have awesome ideas.
We were at Family Camp when they started so we didn't get to take pictures until the third day.
Day 3:
View from our front steps
Day 4:
The block we picked is called "split faced"
Again the view from our front steps looking out
Day 5:
We added 4 columns so we can have lights and a masonry mailbox.

Family Camp 2009
Last weekend we headed down to San Diego for the annual Flipside Family Camp. This was our first year going with a trailer and we were really looking forward to it. Turns out we were WAY less social with the trailer. Our first trip we only went for one night and stayed in a tent. The last two years we rented a cabin and felt like we were right in the middle of everything and spent a lot of time hanging out with fellow Flipsidians. This year though, we pretty much hung around our trailer and only saw peeps at breakfast, dinner or if they happened to go by our site. Todd pointed out to me too though that the trailer wasn't the "only" reason. It's tough to get out and socialize with a 4 month old who naps and eats every couple of hours. Don't get me wrong, we still had a really great time, it was just a little strange for us.
I hardly took any pictures until the last day. Oops!
Here is Jett's cool bike he rented 3 times
We loved our site. It was a corner one and we were next to the Murdocks, Lanes and right across from the Smiths.
Potluck dinner with TONS of great foods (there's Jett in the front of the line of course)
Jackson waiting patiently for his dinner
And as Jane pointed out "THAT SHIRT IS A LIE, IT'S LIKE HER 21ST RED SOX SHIRT". I think she's right :)
Jane's awesome table set up...so cute (and Micah who made our cutting board and stove cover made these cool stands for their lights)
Carrie and I (it was SO windy at that moment of course)
Morgan jumped on this little bike and we were so surprised she was actually pedaling...
Jane and I
The kiddos
Jett was cute trying to help Momo drive the bike
Shellie, Pam and I
Now we get a little break. No camping for 1 whole week and we are back out there for Mother's Day weekend.

Julian, Ca
Last weekend we drove up to Julian to camp with Doug and Letty. It was a huge campground called KQ Ranch. It was one of those time share places and we got to go for free if we attended a sales presentation. Of course within 5 minutes Todd tells the guy he was 100% confident we were not going to buy and they were actually really nice. Said they didn't want to waste our time and we didn't have to finish the presentation. Not bad...15 minutes for a free weekend!
The first night was SCARY - there was a 3.9 earthquake nearby and it scared the 'you know what' out of us! And it was WINDY all night so every time the trailer shook we woke up thinking it was another earthquake. The wind died down a little though once the sun came up.
Anyways since it was a "full hook up" type place there was lots to do. First we went exploring.
Kite flying
Jackson's cool hat from Grandma Andrea
Morgan did an awesome job flying the kite herself
There was an older playground for the kids. We had fun too though, Letty and I played a game of tetherball. I think my arms are still sore today!
(I had my camera on the wrong setting most of the day...so that's why pics are blue ...oops!)
Check out his brim!
There were cool things carved all over the grounds
Woodpecker
Jay and Chantelle drove up for a day visit.
On Monday we walked to the top of the grounds and it was gorgeous!
And crazy windy
When we got back the horses were out eating. So I went and got some apples and the kids fed them.
Jackson liked them too
The girls found some trees to climb
Ms Little Daredevil
There was also a little putt putt course to play on
Then it was time for Happy Hour! YUM
And Rummikub of course
For dinner Todd cooked lamb kabobs. He LOVED them.
I didn't take pictures on our last day - except for the turkey's on the way out! MMMM - reminds me, Second Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away!
