Todd ran his first marathon a few weeks ago. It was the Los Angeles Stadium to Sea route, which is the first time it's been done.
We got up super early and headed down to Hollywood to catch a glimpse of him running by around mile 11.
Morgan the little cheerleader!
Jackson was happy to cheer daddy on too.
And of course Mimi was there to support him too
We saw the Elite Women run by first
The Elite Men went by so fast, I barely got a shot of them
Of course there were some crazy costumes
And LOTS of runners
So excited to see Todd
He looked great! But he said he knee was hurting him from early on and he wasn't going to meet his goal. He was okay with it though, especially since they say not to even make a time goal for your first one. Just have a goal to finish.
It was so crazy close to the finish line, that with the stroller we could not even get close. We had to wait for him in the Family Reunion section.
Not sure about this bike?
Here he is getting ready to cross the finish line. Fortunately Erwin (the Mascot) and Doug and Letty were able to get a picture of Todd finishing.
We were so proud of him. He finished in 5:10!
Taking a rest with the kids
After the race, and the LONG drive home we met up with the family and the Tompkins at Chili's for a dinner celebration. (When I say LONG, I meant it took FOREVER! You wouldn't have thought we were coming home from Vegas on a holiday weekend. Traffic was horrific just trying to get a few blocks to the freeway on ramp. The traffic on the freeway was NOT much better. But although it was yuck, we'd do it all over again to see Todd run a marathon.)
Momo had a little fall
We had the balloon guy come to the table and the kids LOVED the stuff he made
When we got home, Mimi left this for Todd on the front porch! So sweet.
